What is an audience warm-up and why is it so important?
An audience warm-up or a crowd warmer is an entertainer or comedian who performs before the filming of a television show and during commercial breaks. The purpose of a crowd warmer is to make the audience feel integral to the show and encourage reactions . An upbeat and energetic mood in the studio often translates to viewers at home.
An audience warm-up performance may include a comedy routine while also possibly explaining aspects of the show. Some warm-up routines consist of quizzes, games, sing-songs, dancing etc.
In recent weeks, HIYA was in charge of the audience warm-up for Ireland’s Got Talent.
Company owner and managing director, James Sexton wowed the audience of Ireland’s Got Talent. Providing an enjoyable performance which you can be guaranteed got the audience laughing. James encouraged the audience which demanded positive reactions that set the tone and mood throughout the filming of the show.
